I am a marketer by trade yet cannot stand ‘traditional marketing’.  I spent the past eight years working as the Global Brand Manager for Patagonia Footwear, followed by the role of Global Marketing Manager for Chaco.  In the beginning stages of both brands, without a lot of money for traditional marketing, they had to rely on their stories to help gain awareness and to grow.  I see no coincidence behind the fact that both brands continue to have a loyal community of consumers.

I love storytelling.  There is a purity, an authenticity and transparent richness that comes from both telling and listening to a story.  I see smart brands, organizations, companies switch over to storytelling from traditional marketing because consumers aren’t stupid – we all want to belong to a community.  The stories told by these brands, organizations and companies are the road that we all walk, in order to stay authentically connected.  To me, this is marketing, in its purest form.

My work is carefully considered, customized to each client’s needs and agreed upon by all parties involved, each step of the way.  I believe that storytelling will slowly begin to take over traditional marketing, leaving those behind that don’t have real stories to tell.
